Did Kate Winslet have work done?
As many of you noticed in yesterday’s BAFTA coverage, Kate Winslet was looking strange at the awards ceremony. Many asked the hard question: did Kate Winslet get something done to her face? It looked mysteriously “tight” and her eyebrows looked a little high. Was it just makeup… or perhaps just one or two bad photos of her? Or did Miss Natural get something done? I honestly don’t know, but I suspected Kate had gotten something done back in November of last year, when she appeared at the Bambi Awards in Germany looking a little puffy (and perhaps post-surgery). A lot of didn’t think she looked weird, but it would make sense if she had something done last fall, and we’re only noticing it now, just because she’s not photographed that often. You be the judge:
Anyway, since Kate won the Best Actress Oscar last year, she is going to be a presenter at this year’s Oscars. Likely she’ll be presenting Best Actor, and she’ll probably be presenting it to Jeff Bridges. This annual celebration made People Magazine ask Kate the big question: where do you keep your Oscar? Kate’s answer: the bathroom.

Last year’s Best Actress winner, for The Reader, keeps her golden statuette in the bathroom so guests “can sneakily have a little [hold] and put it back down again,” she told the U.K. TV show GMTV on Monday.
Her reason for storing it there, she says, is “because basically everybody wants to touch it, everybody wants to hold it and go ‘Oh, my gosh,’ and ‘How heavy is it?’ So I figured if I put it [in there], then people can avoid the whole, ‘Where’s your Oscar?’ thing.”
Winslet, 34, also walked the red carpet at the annual BAFTA awards in London Sunday, and says she relishes the chance to dress up in award season.
“It’s great to wear lovely dresses and to just experience those moments of dress up, especially as a mum, because,” says the mother of two, “you get so few moments to feel good in your own skin and wear a lovely gown.

That’s cute. I’ve read that Kate’s Sense and Sensibility buddy Emma Thompson keeps her Oscar in the toilet too, as does Sean Connery. InStyle Magazine always does a piece on where stars keep their Oscars, and it always amuses me. Some people build special display cases for their Oscars (like Kevin Costner), while others just put it on the bookcase with all their other awards (like Dustin Hoffman). Where will I keep my Oscar, you ask? I will put mine by the bed, if not in bed with me. Just because!
