Is Halloween 2 on Netflix?

By Ava Lawson

The horrifying and highly anticipated sequel Halloween Kills has made its magnificent debut kicking the iconic franchise back into the spotlight with many Netflix subscribers seeking out every entry in the film series, including the much-beloved sequel to the original flick Halloween 2.

Not to be confused with the chapter that comes after the 2018 Halloween movie or the ambitious Rob Zombie remake follow-up of the same name, the 1981 feature starring Jaime Lee Curtis and Donald Pleasence is the first motion picture to be dubbed as a Michael Myers sequel. The 92-minute nightmare-inducing slasher is an exceptional installment in the long-running franchise and provides the iconic and extremely necessary twist that Laurie Strode is actually the sister of The Shape.

The film picks up right after the cliffhanger ending from the first film with Pleasence’s Dr. Loomis, having shot Michael six times, still on the hunt for the masked murderer, and Jaimie Lee Curtis’s Laurie is sent to a hospital to recover. But the night Haddonfield’s streets ran with blood continues, and Myers makes his way to his unsuspecting sibling, killing anyone that he comes across in the process.

Like Aliens and Terminator 2: Judgement Day, Halloween 2 was the last one in the series before the franchise goes in some rather interesting directions over the years, and if fans are looking for some of the best The Shape has to offer should not sleep on the best sequel.

There are going to be many scary things that subscribers will face, and one of them is the realization that not everything can find a home on the streaming powerhouse’s library. Hopefully, this news doesn’t traumatize those hoping to watch the classic sequel because Halloween 2 is not available on Netflix.

The news that the second chapter of the Halloween legacy doesn’t exist on the streamer is a nightmare in its own right, but before everyone heads for the hills, it is important to remember that Netflix has plenty of excellent features of the frightening variety. Some of these options include the Fear Street trilogy, The Ritual, Blood Red Sky, and Things Heard & Seen, which are all ready to stream now.

Halloween 2 is available on AMC+. In addition, the horror feature is also available on VOD services like Amazon Prime, Vudu, Google Play, Apple TV, and YouTube.
