On his 22nd birthday, Jarrod Saltalamacchia was called up to Atlanta Braves.

In 2007, in 47 games, he batted .284 with 4 home runs and 12 RBIs. On July 31, 2007, he was traded to Texas Rangers.

On April 25, 2009, Jarrod struck out in his 28th consecutive game and set a new MLB strikeout streak record.

He was traded to the Boston Red Sox on July 31, 2010. He finished 2011 with .235/.288/.450 with 16 HR, and 56 RBIs in the 103 games he played.

In 2013, he appeared in 121 games and hit .273/338/.466 with 14 home runs, 65 RBIs, 40 doubles, and 68 runs.

He joined the Miami Marlins on December 3, 2013. On May 7 of the same year, he joined the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Following that, he had stints on Detroit Tigers, and Toronto Blue Jays before rejoining Detroit Tigers.

He announced his retirement on January 28, 2019.
