Ricky Gervais is an Engish actor, writer, director, standup comedian, host, and singer. He is known for BBC comedy sitcoms such as ‘The Office” and ‘Extras’ in 2005.

Furthermore, he has created the famous video podcast, the Rickey Gervais show.

He was born on June 25, 1961, in Leading, Berkshire, England, UK. He was raised and brought up along with two brothers, Larry and Robert, and his sister Masha. Their parents are Lawerence Raymond and Eva Sophia.

He was educated at Whitley Park Infants and Junior schools and later enrolled at Ashmead Comprehensive. Finally, he got his degree in philosophy from University College London in  1980. he is of English nationality and of French-Canadian ethnicity.

Gervais started his career as a singer during his final year at University College London. He collaborated with friend Bill Mcrae to release two singles, ‘ More to lose ‘and ‘Bitter Heart’. However, these singles were not successful and he later pursued his career in comedy.

Ricky Gervais began his standup comedy in the late 1990s in the shows such as ‘The 11 O’Clock Show’ and  ‘Meet Ricky Gervais’. this was Followed by popular satirical shows like ‘The Office’ and ‘Extras’ in 2005.
